I would not dance with Cliff:
I felt awkward, while
Cliff was grace personified.
Now, so many years later,
All alone,
I close my eyes,
And, hearing
The Blue Danube Waltz,
I see myself with Cliff,
In a bright Viennese ballroom,
Cliff, so fine in his tuxedo,
I, in an elegant, billowing gown;
We are dancing.
And I let the tears fall.
